Outdoor Classroom Program

School students in elementary and junior high learn how Math, English, Science, and History relate to the real world. A self-guided study program involves math equations in respect to rides and games. Language skills are toned as students write about feelings, sights, sounds, and emotions as they experience them. Civil War Re-enactor Memorial Day Salute , Military Discount

Cheerleading Competition
August 8
Now this is something to cheer about! Squads will perform three-minute competition routines to include segments in dance, transition and cheer. Parking
Free, convenient parking located throughout the grounds. Handicap parking is available in all parking areas, but is most conveniently located in Lots A, C, D, and E.
If it rains
Sorry, we do not issue rainchecks or refunds. An overcast day means shorter lines and just as many thrills! Most rides and attractions continue to operate in light rain. In the event of heavy downpours or an electrical storm, many rides and attractions will close until the storm has passed and then reopen.
Recommended Dress
Proper attire must be worn in all amusement areas. Shoes, shirts, pants or shorts are required (excluding pool and waterslides). Approved swimsuits (no metal devices) are required for pool and waterslides. Lockers are available for a small fee near the pool.
Idlewild is a family park, and as such does not permit any overtly offensive behavior, language, or clothing.
This includes, but is not limited to, profanity, clothing with hateful messages, pornography, vulgarity, illegal acts, and/or divisive political messages.
Strollers, Wagons, & Wheelchairs
Stroller, wagon, and wheelchair rentals are available at Guest Services located behind General Store in Hootin' Holler. ID is required for rentals.
ATM Banking Machines
ATM Banking Machines are located inside the Idlewild Clothing Company in Olde Idlewild, and inside the General Store in Hootin' Holler.
Credit Cards
We welcome Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express at ticket booths, BBQ Pit, Pasta Works, The Sandwich Factory, and most gift shops in the park. Traveler's checks are accepted.
Smoking
Idlewild and SoakZone is a family environment to be enjoyed by all. Therefore we have made efforts to accommodate both smokers and non-smokers. As a courtesy to our guests and for safety reasons, we ask that smokers refrain from smoking in all areas of the park except for parking lots and those areas that are specifically marked as DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS. Additionally, smoking is prohibited in all queue lines, on all rides and attractions, inside pavilions and at all restaurant seating and theater locations.
"VIRGINIA GRAEME BAKER POOL AND SPA SAFETY ACT - On December 19th 2008 the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act went into effect. This new law requires VGB Compliant Pool Drain Grates. We are VGB Compliant but please note in some applications these grates have a raised profile off the floor as mandated by the Law.
Warning: Raised Grate - All of our raised grates have a red circle highlighting their location. They are designed to be stepped on but in shallow water situations they may pose a tripping hazard."
